input shaft bearing?
okay, from what people have said in my previous posts, i am pretty sure my input shaft bearing is bad. my question is, how serious is the problem? will it damage the tranny, or will it just continue to make clicking noises? basically, do I HAVE to get it changed asap? or can i wait a while to change it out?
umm, idk...i bought the car with 150,000 miles on it, and there was a slight clicking...now the car has about 154,000 and the clicking is a little louder...so idk how long before i bought the car that it was doing this.

To answer your question, I currently have d-series tanns ripped apart due to a input shaft bearing failure. Well he two waited the until it got worst. Now, not only does have to replace the input bear, he also has to replace the input shaft. The was damage due to excessive shaft movement when the bearing broke apart.
So, my advice to you is replace it now before it get expensive.

Well shoot thats what I thought I had, a bad imput shaft bearing. If that right I have managed to get 80k+ miles on mine bought the car with 50k currently has 145k driven as hard as any street car could be.
$80 is what I charge to replace a unexploded ISB.
Exploded ISB replaced is about $125 IF the mainshaft is not damaged.
That means the tranny is dropped off at my place.
Do not let that bad ISB explode. This tranny is now JUNK.

I need to have someone listen to my car and tell me WTF is wrong. Bone- If I can record an audio file you think that you might be able to tell me what it is.?
