I can get 550 cc injectors and they cost the same as 270 cc. Is it going to hurt or would the injectors only put out what is needed?

Yep, can hurt (low rpm performance), too big can't be cycled on/off fast enough at idle without allowing TOO much gas injection. I'd think double would be too big.

it's kewl man but, my question was would the injectors cut down there feed of fuel when the O2 says that it is running rich? I understand that too much fuel is bad but, why would the fuel management system over feed the fuel or can you not turn down the 550's? Or 310's or whatever!!!

 

The pipe is too big. Injectors cycle on/off at varying speeds like a camera shutter, more fuel means on is open longer. Bigger injectors are like a wider aperture, more fuel flows through. At idle, a bigger injector can only cycle so fast on/off and the large opening may still let too much gas through.

 

Okay so I would only want 310's on a somewhat stock B18C!?!

 

You should decide on what you want to do to the car and then go with the size.

 

Well FYI, you could use as large as a 450cc injectors with the aide of an AFC to trim them down appropriatley. Anything larger and it overwhelms the ECU and AFC altogether.

chipped p28 ecu with Mugen program and 8K rev limiter


What would be an appropriate injector size. I was thinking RC310's or 270's.
I will be dragging and auto-xing occasionally, but mainly daily driver.

stock injectors will work fine for oyu, 234cc is stock sizing. Going 550cc is more than double the size ... and is a bad idea because:
1- ecu cant control that big
2- lots of plug fouling
3- way too much fuel because mugen program also increases inj duty more than stock
