Default info books???

Hey im wondering if you guys can recommend any books or sites that deal with modifying engines. This coming winter i want to pull my h22 that me and my gramps a retired mechanic installed with the instructions from scc mag. Thats pretty funny because i dont know much about egines and my gramps mainly worked on toyotas. The reason i want to pull the engine is so i can build it up but i dont know how to go about it and i dont want to pay some shop to make my modifications because this is mine and my gramps project car. We want the satisfication of doning it our selves. so if you can please provide info on some good tech books or sites would be helpful thanks.

All you should need is a helms manual and this forum.
