Increasing the redline and rev ability on a b20?
so the b20 has a low redline, like 6800 or something like that. lets just say someone wanted to make it rev higher like 8000 and be reliable. what steps should you take? and is it even worth doing?

Well you could put in a B18c crank & rods, put in a b17a crank & custom rods, put on a crank girdle &/or go with the longer Eagle rod/raised pin piston combo. Make sure your valve train can handle it, and make sure it actually makes power up there or this is all pointless.

Also, the sleeves on a b20 are rather week. From what i hear they tend to crack near the top and split downward. A block gaurd will help, but for the full protection, get it resleaved with some darton sleeves or GE.

I know a guy on superhonda that revs his b20 to 8k and shifts @ that rpm and he ran a 14.3 in a CRX> his name is AK CRX. As for the r/s ratio its 1.53 and 7mm sleevs... you ll have to tune really well to prevent detonation, good luck

It is worth doing, if you take the time and money to do it right. New, lighter, balanced internals (pistons, rods, valvetrain, block girdle) will allow for the redline to be a little higher...you'll need cams to make power up there though.
Crower makes nice cams for the non-vtec b20.
