They should both work the same way. Be sure to tighten the distributor bolts back up when your done and don't advance the timing past about 20 degrees BTDC. Run premium fuel too. Your engine is going to get hotter and you may have trouble passing smog so you might want to turn the timing back for smog.
You have to jump the service connector above the ECU(green rubber boot). The check engine light will light up. Then you can loosen the 3 distributor bolts, then set the timing. Thats all you need to do, don't forget to remove the jumper.
