Import builders block

My bro has an all motor with the compression at 12.5.1 the block was built by IB. My question is can he run 94 on the block without using CAM2? Cause the CAM2 is making big holes in his pockets. Any info would be great thanks.

I don't see why not. I ran 93 in my b18c1 with 12:5:1 last year totally untuned. I always just carried some octane booster incase I got a bad tank of gas.
