Default IM stud hole stripped?

My intake manifold gasket blew and I'm having idle surges.
I figured it out to be that one of the studs holding the manifold isn't even screwed in. I pulled it out and theres metal around the threads and it won't screw back in.
Anyone know of a way to fix this? Can I just retap the hole oversize and use a bolt?? or do I still have to use a stud and nut?
Thanks

those studs SUCK, there a pain in the ***. what i did was use a actual sqrew in..No stud.. If u need a bigger one cuz u stripped it, than so be it. But try a exact thread as OEM. see if its just a little u stripped, maybe its still salvagable. Hope this helps!

hope its the stud that is stripped off, not the head, but yes if you have to you can tap it larger and drill out the IM to match. also may have to enlarge the gasket.
