Ignition timing and temp.
Does retarding timing cause increased engine temp? Im wondering if once I go back to base timing with my FI setup and boost timing master instead of 5 degrees retard at the distributor. If I will be hotter or colder. I vaguely remember back when I knew nothing about cars when I retarded my timing and the engine temp increased so I figured I'd ask.
I would say colder if you retard it since the peak pressure wont be happening at exactly TDC anymore. I wouldnt worry about hot or cold, just use the right octane with around 12:1 A/F ratio to keep temps down.
