Default Ignition problems

I have a 2006 Honda Accord ex my key will not turn my ignition. I've ordered a new ignition lock cylinder with keys. My question is will the new key start the car once I install the new lock cylinder? Or will I have to have it programmed?

Keys have to be programmed. You could take one of the old keys and zip tie it somewhere near the immobilizer, on the steering column
