Default ignition problems

pretty stumped here guys, just last thursday i finished putting a new tranny on my b20vtec took it out for a test drive thur night drove it to work fri morn left work drove around 5 or 6 miles to a friends house back to work then home fri night then to wendy's. On the way home from wendy's my car sputtered and died leaving me to have to tow it home after getting it home i did a little diagnosis, the car will crank and attempt to turn over but never does, the spark plugs are wet with gasoline after the car is cranked so im pretty sure its getting fuel and my guess is im not getting spark or very good spark, i changed the plugs plug wires distributor cap rotor button and coil pack, but still nothing the car cranks and attemps to turn over but doesn't, i also unplugged all of the plug wires to see if it sounded any different which it did it just continued to crank not sounding like it was going to turn over at all so my guess is im getting some spark, but not nearly enough and im not sure why, some people have told me to check my battery, but i dont know why that would have anything to do with spark if the motors cranking, im really stumped here people any help will be extremely appreciated in advance (this car is my only and daily driver)

thanks,
josh

Check your grounds first. I have a feeling it's your ignitor however.

ive checked the ground from the valve cover to the frame and the ground from the frame to the tranny i pulled them all off sanded them down and tightened them to make sure they were making good connections, oddly ive never heard of the ignitor is it the same thing as the icm or is it something else im unfamiliar with

Yeah, it's also known as the ICM. It's located in the distributor, it's a small module with 4 wires connected to it. It is one of the infamous Honda ignition gremlins.

Also, did you check the thermostat ground?

no didn't check the thermostat ground ill be sure to that, i also ran into something odd today, while working on it i pulled the icm out and the bottom plug the green and yellow wire was pinched and cut half way thru so im in the process of deciding on how to get the wire back together and also going and ordering another icm there pretty pricey, but from what ive been hearing they have been known to cause the same kind of problem im having, on top of all things im not sure what else could be causing me to not have any spark other then my icm unless my distributor itself is just bad, but im not real sure how or what goes bad in them
