If timing belt breaks...
If the timing belt breaks, would the motor even turn over?
Here's the problem. It's a 94 Accord EX. Car won't start. It'll turn over, but the distributor/spark plug wires aren't getting any spark. So I got another distributor and there's still no spark. But the wiring harness to the distributor does have power.
Second, the rotor inside the dist doesn't spin. So that's why some people say that it's a broken timing belt. But I thought if the timing belt broke on a Honda, the motor will seize up?
Any clues? All the fuses/relays are good. Grounds are good.
Also, I'm getting conflicting info on the timing belt. The autoparts store is saying there's a balance shaft belt as well. I thought there was only ONE belt...the timing belt. What gives? Anyone have a diagram of the timing belt side on an F22?
Thanx a bunch for anyone listening!

Yes it will turn over even if the timing belt breaks. If the rotor doesn't spin, you won't get any spark, and your timing belt is broken or the intake cam seized(unlikely). Not sure about the extra belt.
