Default Idle surging, vafc install

Ok i've read a lot of stuff on this topic about idle surging, but this is what confuses me. Running N/A i had this idle surge when i was cold, but it idled fine when warm, i swapped to the Y8 intake mani, and now it does the opposite. Now I'm running a greddy turbo kit on my D16Z6, I first started off using the vafc hack and the idle surging stopped. when i took off my vafc and used a chip basemap it came back again. Why would it do this?

Too many variables. Please narrow down. When you replace manifold, did you transfer the IAC and Fast Idle Valve from the old mani to the new one, or did you switch those as well. The surging is most likely coming from a vacuum leak. Please give specifics.
