Default Idle Problem

i am experiencing idle problems when engaging the clutch at complete stop in my 2001 civic ex the idle tends to fall close to stalling but than shoots back up to regular idle any ideas what could cause this?

Does it cycle up and down at all?

Try cleaning out the idle air bypass (attached to the side of the TB) with some carb cleaner. Ours gets sticky and does the same thing.

Yeah- It's a 2001 civic. Did you just disconnect the battery? The 01 civics have a "new" ECU that has an EPROM in it that can be updated- for some reason these things take a long time to learn how to idle if power is removed from the ECU. Changes in weather can cause the same thing. Or you might need your base idle adjusted- take it to the dealer- it should be under warranty.
