Default Idle drop and noise

I have a question....

Ok I have a 96 Integra w a B20B swap and everytime I start my car I hear a noise coming from the passenger side of the car. When the noise is apparent, the idle drops a bit and then picks back up. It does this only when it needs to I guess....I believe it is coming ABS but I'm not positive, can anyone help me out?

Thanks

The ABS modulator unit is near the right headlight, you can have someone listen in the engine bay when you start it.

Yes that is where it is coming from....is there any way to lubricate it or anything?
Any suggestions?

It's a canned pump, you can't lubricate it. You could bleed the ABS but that probably won't make a difference. It's a high-pressure pump so it isn't gonna be silent. Hard to say without hearing yours firsthand, but it's a pretty clear buzzing noise. Not very subtle.

My '95 Integra always made that noise, normally for about 5 seconds at startup. The idle control system pretty much handled it & there was very little disturbance in idle RPM. The electric power it takes is measured by the ELD, so that's how the ECU knows how to handle the idle control.

If the ABS controller decides that the pump runs too long or too often, it'll set off the ABS warning lamp. I don't know whether it has any other means to measure the 'health' of the pump.

FIRST - Read the error codes from the ABS. Jumper the SCS connector, just the same one that you use for check-engine light codes. But the ABS light will flash its code. The syntax of flashes is different tho; there's no long flashes in the codes...

Here's a thread from the Integra forum about error codes. Scroll down past the engine error codes, then you'll see something with my name at the top...

Post up what it flashes & we'll go from there.
