Wow, that was intelligent. Id much rather live with an ABS unit that cycles and self-tests when i start the car then to pull it out and loose ABS.

GOOD/Helpful threads right there.....thats how these topics and replies should be here in this forum....but a lot of them have become, "what JDM rims would match my car and what color lug nuts would make my vtec break traction!" lol
Heading to the dealership today to get that stupid O ring for my ABS unit...

actually, it was. a lot of people prefer non abs and choose to remove it.

unless you live some where to where you actually need it, i dont see the difference, for me i have no problem with out abs, i dont lock up my tires, even when its wet i have no problem. i have to really lay on the pedal for them to lock up.

Why would you prefer not to have abs during everyday driving?
Even if you should lock the tires up, coefficents of kinetic friction are a lot lower than static friction so you wont stop any faster by skidding to a stop. I just dont understand the point of disabling a system that could potentially save you a lot of money or your life.

if you drive a car without ABS, you learn where the potential lock up point is. ABS is more for people who drive automatics as the car does the thinking for you much like an AT tranny, you push the accelerator the car does the rest, you slam the brakes the car does the rest. Its a matter of personal choice, but if your ABS is clicking take your car up to speed and slam on the breaks (you must be goin fast enough that when you slam on the breaks the car will lose traction) if your car skids to a halt then your ABS system is broken and you need to replace/remove it. if the abs system modulates the breaking... feels like your peddle is pulsating under your foot then you are OK and the system is ok. when your car was impounded/towed they may have messed up an ABS wheel sensor (the sensor that tells the system that your wheels have locked up) check your axles in the front near the wheel hub you will see a band that has notches in it, the sensor is magnetic and located very near that band, go from there. Good luck.

ok, i realize this, but 99% of people here dont/shouldnt drive their car to the point at which they learn where it is. Plus, that lockup point changes depending on what surface you are on. Plus, why learn where that point is when the car will let off pressure for you?
I guess what i am trying to say is that its safer and better for most people here to leave ABS on than to potentially skid and flat spot your tires.
