It's on the intake runner for the #1 cylinder. Should be on top of the runner.

ummm I.A.T. = intake air temp = on the intake pipe
I.A.C./V. = idle air control /valve = on the intake manifold by the throttle body

ok i also have this proble with my swap when i hit the throtle the engine revs up and then drops back to idle while the throttle is still held down. im only throwing a code 10 (iat sensor)

would the iat not being hooked up cause this problem?
my friend said its sounds like something to do with the map sensor.

Yes, but for 96-99 civics, the IAT is a black sensor that's been relocated to the intake arm. Honda of America moved it over there for better air flow readings, i guess.

if it's the 99-00 si B16A its on the intake piping. The color of the wire should be red with yellow tracer wire and black with a yellow tracer wire. It's a square plug.
