Default IAT sensor

Are OBD0 and OBD1 IAT sensors the same? Can they be substituted?

Also, any advantage of relocating the IAT sensor from the intake runner (OBD0) to the air intake tube right after the filter?

TIA

I have an OBD0 IAT on my car (92' SI). The sensors themselves function the same. I wouldn't recommend moving the sensor from the intake runner. I am sure the engineers at Honda have it positioned there for a reason.

Glad to know that OBD0 and OBD1 IAT sensors can be swapped....coz the spare sensor that I have is from an OBD1.

Just for argument's sake, the IAT location was changed from the intake runner to the intake tube by Honda itself on later models. Is it possible that the intake runner location is more succeptible to heat soak?

Thanks hondaguyef!

Yeah, I realized this after I made my first statement.

You're probably right. A more accurate reading of the actual Air temp. instead of an Engine/ Air temp mix.

No problem .
