Default IACV Woess

Recently installed a 95 h22 iacv on my euro r motor, its mounted upside down(dunno how it effects it...only way it bolted up.)

before the install the idle would be very lumpy, as if i was camming...

after the install it idled arounddd 400-500 rpms, no cel...

When i press the gas it feels a lil pulled back...i dunno if its all in my head or whatnot, but it feels lagged.

also why would i be idling so low? its the same idle if either the motor is cold or hot.

there is no idle screw on the tb that i noticed...
why would i be idling so low? and would the iacv effect the response? timing and waterpump were just redone...i did timing twice cause i skipped a tooth the first time, but now its dead on...any help would be great! thank you.

Any CELs? Sounds like the IACV is faulty.

IMO, IACVs are a PITA.

Blank off the ports between the IACV / plenum, and IACV related problems go away. The only downside is that there will be no automatic idle speed adjustment, so the need to run base idle speed on the higher side of spec to avoid vibraty low idle with AC or lights etc on.

the euro r has a vaccumm line, and 2 coolant hoses, does it matter where those hoses and vaccumm line go to?

My engine had crisper throttle response after the IACV ports were blocked off. Engine rpm off throttle also dropped faster giving better / faster upshifts, rpm matching for downshifting became more consistant and predictable (engines response to 'blipping' the throttle became more consistant). Idle rpm drops and car vibrates a little if using the AC as well as say the lights or using the window winders, a small price to pay IMO.
