Turboedit - startup idle is HIGH then idle drops and drops and drops
Trying to figure out just out of boost timing on a D16a6 and idle Im having trouble with
On cold start, the idle jumps to 1500 or so, with open downpipe is just to annoying and unnessesary. So it warms up and drops and drops and drop
Slowly until it get to like 500 or so
you can get out and adjust the idle screw and raise it to like 750, then it idles some more and keeps dropping!!!
motor never stalls out but its pretty ******* annoying
This is on a d16a6 running turboedit and dsm 450's and a gm 3 bar
Need some help

When a car is cold it will idle higher then slowly go down once it warms up to normal operating temp. I would go through your options and make sure you have your idle speed set, play with your idle screw, then also check the tension on your throttle cable.

Throttle cable is mint ****
WHere is the idle speed in TE?

Re: Turboedit - startup idle is HIGH then idle drops and drops and drops (PINKS)
There is no idle speed adjustment in turboedit unless it's available in a plugin. Your low idle is probably a result of either your intake air temp IAT sensor or the engine coolant temperature ECT. Is your intercooler blocking your radiator now? The ecu will lower the idle if it reads that the temperature is going up. Even if the gauge on the dash says it's fine, the stock gauge won't move for a wide range. The engine is probably fine temperature wise, but the ecu is programmed to lower the idle based on temperature.

You cant possibly continue having your idle drop as you unscrew the idle screw on the intake manifold.
Let the car get fully warm and set the idle with the idle screw until it stays steady at about 750-800 rpms.
I am ASSuming you are using a wideband and your AFRs are on par as idle right?

haha. I was just going to ask this too. So many posts from this guy from the past few days and it seems he just needs someone to help him out on a personal level (ie...A TUNE!!!! )

Air fuels are about 13.6:1 at idle
I have a aftermarket coolant temp gauge, but Im running no thermo so it takes a while to warm up I suppose

the NG stable roms for 3BAR never really got 100% completed, theres some bugs to be worked out.
i tried and never worked fine with me, didnt want to idle
i switched to a 2.5 BAR motorola. and never had a problem since

my car is doing this as well, it will rev itself from like 1500 to 1000, like every 2 or 3 seconds. i have no clue idea why

No thermostat and you are wondering why your idle varies...you are running colder sometimes, hotter others, most likely depending on how much air flow is getting to your radiator, if you are parked, in traffic etc. You ECT sensor is all over the place and fuggin with your ECU.
Put a stock thermostat in there too

If you are overheating on a stock thermostat and the thermostat is good...you have something else wrong.
You cant expect to bandaid a problem in the damn and not have it spring a leak in another spot.
