IACV Polarity Positive and Negative
If i wired the + and - from the ecu to the plug what would happen. I rewired my vtec and the car is running perfect but i want to make sure the polarity at the ecu is the where it supposed to be in relation to the plug. I have the pinouts for the ecu so i know which is positive and negative there. I just dont know which is positive and negative at the switch or doesnt it matter? If it does what will happen if anything? The motor is a 99 b18c1 with a skank intake manifold. I searched and came up short.
Basically it is just an DC motor. It spins one way to drop idle and spins the other to up the idle. The ECU switches it back and forth.
Have the car at running temp and at idle then switch on all the accessories.
If the idle drops 100 rpm then you either have it hooked up backwards or it is not working.
It should increase the idle 100rpm, obviously.

If it is wired backwards it ( in theory) should drop rpm instead of raise. Or it might not do anything. The ECU might sense the rpm not raising and not adjust it.
What I would try to do is find a car with your motor and see which way the wires are.
I will keep an eye out for one in my shop too.
What makes you think they are swapped did you de-pin it and mixed them up?

yeah the previous owner who did the swap had it wired but it looked like ***, so i re-ran wiring and soldered and taped everything then loomed it but somehow lost track of the wiring for the iacv
