ok i know what your think this is a dodo motor but im looking into building motors and ive never built one and i would like to start on one that i have siting around. i have a crx shell im going to put it in when im done. its a d15b and its got some miles on it. so what all good cheap rods,pistons,head what ever i can do to mack a lil power so i can learn and sell the car. please any info would be great.im looking at a d15 ported head right now and would like to do just a cheap build.what way should i go about doing this cause i have 2 b16 but dont want to tear into them till i know a lil bit more about them i have changed out cams springs and retainers in my b16 but that the most ive done as far as geting into the motor. also my friend has a zc sohc motor what would be some good stuff for it.

How much power are you trying to make?
The rods for the D15 are a little pricey because only one company makes them, but the pistons are reasonable.
Is this going to be for all motor or turbo?

 

well im not looking to spend a crazy amount cause this is my first build and im puting it in a crx shelll i have so i would like a lil hp so i would like to put some 10 to 11 pistons. something to give it a lil more hp but im not looking to spend alot just more of a learn as you go.i got a b16 im building this is like a side motor i have siting around.

We're in the same boat. I plan on a d15b build and boost this coming winter.

n/a i just wanna build it new basicly and sell it in a shell i have but want it to be kinda fast to help the sell
