I have an 02 civic ex When I drive at high speed/distance more than 20 miles I smell something like plastic burning and yesterday it changed. Now smells like rubber burning and may be coming from the wheel area. Looked in the engine could see nothing but low brake fluid. Someone tell me I'm not crazy. Please?

everything is manufacture specs i haven't changed anything

 

jack up the car and take a look at the underside of the car. also check out he wheel wells for the fender lining rubbing on the tire.

 

At one point I had a wheel well liner come loose and at highway speeds the wind could push it against the tire -- you should check out the well liners.

 

I had the same problem but it was my tires spinning hehe

 

Do you have a standard tranny? Sometimes when it gets worn, or is out of adjustment, it can smell like rubber burning. But start off simple, do as the
other guy sasid, and check ur tires and wheel liner first. Good luck
