Default i read about crankshafts storage

i have read that it may warp if you don't place it on the end. im in the process of rebuilding my engine and i placed my crankshaft in a plastic back and lay it on its side on stacks of cushions, its been laying since august and i plan on finishing the build by next spring. will i have to really worry about it getting warped?

Yes the shaft will actually bend under it own weight. Ideally you want to store it on a set of "v" blocks. But if they are unavailable, store it upright.

i get my block back on wensday from darton, ill store it back in the block once i get it back. but i highly doubt any damage is done already since august right? i had v8 builders tell me over long periods of time such as years will cause it to warp. bump
