let's see... they require you to play around with parts inside the head, which are INTERNAL components of the engine...
yes.
bolt ons = parts you bolt on, i.e. intake, IM, header, exhuast, TB, cat.
anything that affects the moving parts inside an engine = internals IMO

In My Opinion theres also IMHO h is honest. damn i feel like an aol geek. i say cam gears are NOT internals. whats internal about cam gears????
If I can change the part in under 1/2 hour, then it is a bolt-on.
To me, a cam is a bolt-on for SOHC motors.

i can change a head gasket on my gsr in 30 minutes, let alone cams. cams, valves, valvesprings, rocker arms, retainers, pistons, wrist pins, oil rings, connecting rods, the crank, and the bearings are internals. intake, header, exhaust, cam gears, underdrive pulleys, crank pulleys, fuel rails, fprs, ignition stuff, intake manifolds, throttle bodies, turbos and superchargers, these are bolt-ons. nuff said
