I need an answer about plug wires and applications
I have a 97 Acura EL (or as known Civic EX with 1.6 SOHC VTEC)
Its time to get plug wires but down here in Canada, I find them really expensive which is about 80 bucks CDN....
So I was wonderin can I use spark plug wires from a 93-95 Honda Civic SI, also has the SOHC VTEC engine...
Is this a good idea or bad? What would happen if I did use plug wires from older SOHC VTEC engine onto a new one despite they are the same engine or does it really matter?
I would like NGK's plug wires(blue ones)....Suggestions or comments?
Thanks for your help

well especially when you get prices for other Civic Models and they are chargin like 60 bucks for that ****...
that aint fair 20 bucks more just for VTEC? and cause its an EL?
Listen another quote I had was way high like 120 bucks so why not find the best price out there...
I was not talking about the price, I want to know about the applications, look at my question!!!!

the civic SI and the EL have the same engine so you can use the plug wires from either one.
the NGK wires are pretty good. very close to stock replacment and reasonably priced.
my question to you is how many KM do you have on your stock wires that you feel you should change them? the OEM ignition wires are very good and are designed to last a long long time.........you will see no performance gain in replacing the ignition wires unless you have a high output ignition system and you burnt out the OEM wires............
the only other reason to replace them is for looks.....
