I just put A/C on my vx help
Hi I just put A/C on my hond civic vx and I am not get power to my compressor. I have power going to my fan but i dont have power to my Compressor. Cane Someone help?
I checked the relay and that work. For some reason there is no juice going to the compressor so I think the problem is electronic.

What did the A/C system come out of?
Did you get everything?
1- HVAC control head.
2- Blower motor switch.
3- A/C thermostat.
4- Condenser, fan and relay.
5- A/C pressure switch.
6- Evaporator.
7- Accumulator/filter/dryer.
8- Expansion valve or orifice tube.
8- Proper A/C refrigerant, [R134A] charge.
How long was it on the vacuum pump?
Did it hold vacuum for at least 5 min.?
Did you nitrogen the system to check for leaks, did it hold 250PSI for at least 10 min.?
Did you replace all "O" rings and seals with new ones? 94

1- HVAC control head.(where is this?)
2- Blower motor switch.(If its the button on the climate control yes)
3- A/C thermostat.(I think this is what i need. Where does this go?)
4- Condenser, fan and relay(yes)
5- A/C pressure switch.(where is this at?)
6- Evaporator.(yes)
7- Accumulator/filter/dryer.(yes)
8- Expansion valve or orifice tube.(yes)

are you getting power to the relay when you press the button in the car?
you could have everything hooked up right and the a/c pressure switch could be your problem
you will not get power to the compressor until there is a charge in the system...if my memory serves me correctly...you will need to evac the system...make sure it holds vac...hook up your freon charging device...start engine, apply power to compressor lead, charge system to normal operating pressure, and then you should be able to plug the compressor lead back in and have everything work normal
this is because of the pressure sensor...too high or too low of pressure and the compressor will not run
I know sometimes it will work without manually powering the compressor but sometimes just evac'ing and charging will not allow enough charge of a to allow the a/c pressure switch to engage the compressor before the head pressure on the charging machine exceeds the machines pressure limit and it stops charging
if your doing the parts store a/c recharge can w/out evac'ing the system first, manually powering the compressor will make things a little easier for you until the system pressure reaches the a/c pressure switches limit
I don't know off the top of my head, but I'm sure there is a way to "ground" the a/c pressure switch so that it thinks there is enough system pressure to engage the compressor and make sure it is the pressure switch that is keeping the compressor off without having to try to charge the system first, I just don't remember how without looking at the wiring diagram
hope that helps
