i installed ls/vtec in an AUTOMATIC car today.........
works great but with the p72 ecu the car has a rev limit of 5k and doesnt shift correctly. how could i get this to work correctly, has anyone done it? with the LS computer in it the car runs good but no VTEC, i could install an VAFC but the car would still ahve a rev limit of 7k with the ls ecu. this is an obd2a car. Just looking to get some input from other people.

And can you offer a logical explanation for why you think so?
philipwight stated that the original automatic ECU allows the car to run correctly, just without VTEC, naturally because it's a non-VTEC computer. The P72 he probably has is a manual P72, completely lacking the ability to work with the automatic tranny, thus causing the incorrect shifting and the limp-mode induced 5k rev limit.
A JDM automatic P72 should correct this situation as it has all the necessary capabilities that the stock automatic ECU has, and it has the additional provisions for VTEC including a higher rev limit.

No I know what he posted I was explaining to him what happens to the trans with out the auto ecu I think you have a ego problem not everybody knows as much as you or I.
I didn't know this was your post and no the JDM P72 auto does not have a rev limit as high as a manual one does but I do agree it is higher than his stock ecu and offers vtec.
