I never saw how to do this but, how hard is it to remove the black **** off the valve cover? Isn't it a layer of powdercoating does it come off easy or what is the method about getting it off?

i took mines off and sanded it down w/ a electric sander & fine grains, then painted it red... now lotsa ppl mistake my accord for an ITR and i think i gained like 15+ hp from it..

 

What about taking it somewhere and having it sandblasted? It would probably give it a nice frosted look too.

Let me let you all in on a secret. Go to pepboys, and buy a can of 'Aircraft Remover' paint stripper. Its in a silver and blue can. All you do is spray it on, and you can see the paint actually bubble off. Then you just spray it clean with the hose. No scrubbing, no sand blasting, no HARD WORK!

Pretty much what I was going to say. Wear eye protection and try to dispose of the scrapper in a proper place, it is very toxic. Don't let animals near it!

 

Try wiping off the melt with paper towels over newspaper and then tossing that in the trash, I'm sure it would kill all your grass with the runoff.
