Default hydrolockd!?

ok, i was drivin back frm somewhere , on my way there were all these cars tryna merge left and into intersection so to avoid an accident i went to the far left lane and bam engine cut off as i was sittin in a foot n half of water..cut the engine and pushed the car too high ground...tried crankin it a cpl times but it wouldnt. took of aem cai and it was full of water . so i waited a lil longer and the cranked it again to no avail. 5 mins later tried crankn it again and it was real weak startup so i gave it some gas and it picked up rpms. there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust and i was stranded so i drove it home, 5 mins away. the smoking seems to have stoped and car seems to run normal under those rpms....question is did i do any bad damage to it. twice when i tried crankn it it made this loud grinding noise and then stoped. the cars in the garage and i dont even wanna touch it...do i still got a hydrolock problem if the car can start? plz help

Prob sucked some water in and hopefully pushed it thru. White smoke was water being vaporized and pushed thru the exhaust. Pull your plugs to check them out, do a compression check and maybe an oil change in case you pushed water past the rings. You could be ok. Good luck

yes if you did and physical damage you would know immediatley, like if you bent a valve or rod you would know

yah, kamin is right, hydro lock is very serious, you cant compress water, but your piston wants to come up=alot of pressure somewhere, usually u bend a valve... seems like there wasnt enough water to totally stop ur compression stroke, your very lucky. If you pull ur plugs and they are white, dont be alarm'd, thats normal, but i would change your oil just incase you compressed some water past your rings, even if you did it would be such a small amout the oil would absorb it all, but just to be on the safe side. Other than that you should be okay, any damage thats done is done, driving it around aint gunna do any more than what u already did.
