HP in relation to AWD and RWD
for drag purposes? which would be faster? 400whp to the front wheels and 400whp to the rear wheels(AWD). or 800whp to the rear wheels (RWD) situation. keeping in mind its the same car for both setups i.e. skyline. and would they both be equally as fast in a top speed run? or aroudn the same for all situations?
THE AWD should get a better launch, how ever after the RWD car gets gripp... well u get the point

I don't know about 800 total hp, but....
If you have little power, it probably won't make much of a difference. If you have a lot of power, then 4wd would probably give you the best launch. There's more power losses with 4wd though, so it will probably have a slower mph.
If you have a ridiculous amount of power, then all the weight gets transferred to the back, in which case 4wd will probably only slow you down.

well considering AWD is really just RWD with FWD kicking in when the rear starts slipping. In Subarus case i know that they have about 65% of the power going to the rear wheels and 35% (of course) going to the front when there is a loss of traction. As far as Limited Slip and how the power ratios are controlled i have no idea i just remember asking about AWD a long time ago. so really "800 total WHP would be the best because you would have a so called "Maximized traction" keeping in mind i have heard of AWD Diamond stars have troubles with their drivetrains not hold up (breaking or giving out) when they would have too much power. Again not sure if its because they were using slicks or if its just harsh on the tranny/drivetrain kicking the power on/off to the front wheels.
Most of what i am saying is hearsay so dont judge me too quick if i am wrong. just trying to help out since it doesnt seem like anybody is responding.
Just a ?? tho, why are you asking this ? in a HONDA-TECH forum unless you are planning to do this to your honda......

Boostin NSX motor in the back of an Insight, rear wheel drive on slicks... I don't really know the answer to your question but I would think just converting to rear wheel from front wheel would make a big difference.... Think of all the ALL MOTOR Honda's... I saw a run by Roger Sangco driving the AEBS CRX, it has traction problems through third and still ran like an 11.1... This was a couple years back too.. If they had just a bit more traction off the line then I'm sure that would have been 10's don't you think... I bet Steph's newer Civic would be a lot better off rear wheel too.... Oh well i guess it's doing pretty good running low 8's FWD...
