Default ( HOW TO ) tuning valves on b18c1

I heard that when the camshafts are removed from the head the valves must be retuned, what is involved in this process

Probably you heard it's good to adjust your valve lash after you put it back together. If you're lucky and everything goes in perfect, MAYBE you just measure and it's OK.

If you have adjustable cam sprockets, adjust them by tuning on a dyno; but I suppose you can put them back in the same position as before you took it apart?
