what car is it? every car is pretty much the same... its just on how to get to it thats different. anyways, i know in my eg you take out the center console and it exposes the ebrake cable to where it splits off to each cable. youll see a tensioner nut and you just tighten that to pull the cables tighter. do it with the rear wheels off the ground so you know how far to go.

I can vouch for the importance of jacking up the rear tires and do it correctly. Get it too tight and you will end up burning things up.

ep3 e-brakes suck its only locking one wheel...it is very important that you never park your car without it in gear..my sister made this mistake and her ep3 did a 180 in our driveway(very steep) into a tree...not much damage but she learned her lesson and learned to listen to me when i tell her to do thigns...

You can do it that way, but you really don't want to adjust those unless you replace the cables without getting an exact replica of the setup cables...you want to do what it shows generally in the 2nd half of that diagram. Jack the car up (put it in gear so it doesn't go somewhere, and do not put the ebrake on) ON the backside of the drum assembly (the part that's facing inwards towards the gastank etc) there somewhere, should be a little rubber plug that's generally like a rectangle. If you pop that out, inside you should see something that looks like a cog wheel (aka clock gear), you'll want to take a flat head screw driver and slide it into one of the grooves in the wheel and make it go down towards the ground (every car I've ever dealt with is like this, but who knows it could go upwards) Either way, you wanna adjust it until you feel the TINIEST, and I do mean the absolute SLIGHTEST bite to the wheel spinning freely. If you do it any more than a slight bit you'll have to either fight with the wheel to force it in the opposite direction or take the entire wheel and drum off and reset the wheel. Once you have that tiny bite, do the other wheel the same way. Drop the car and test the brake. Should be good.
