I am looking at buying a used cluster. However the seller states the tach is off or doesnt work correctly. The seller indicated the tach would work correctly if hard wired to the tach signal.

Is there a way to test this tach with out ripping apart my dash to install cluster? Perhaps i can run wires fromn the batter and tach signal directly to the cluster from under the hood?
