Re: installing a tach on a DX (sniperslayer)
you could always get a cluster from a ex or si civic that already has a tach in it, and its a simple plug and play mod, its as easy as removing your old cluster and plugging in your new one

Re: installing a tach on a DX (Geeky_Gambit)
yeah he could, but he asked about installing a tach, not a cluster. a tach is a totally different install process.
i honestly dont know what to tell you cuz ive never done it before, but i think you just hood up one or two wires to the tach that you find around the cluster and mount it whereever you want. for my h22, the blue wire is the tach output, but not posative for your application

Re: installing a tach on a DX (EK22snatch)
+ = power source when key is on
- = any solid ground
signal = negative terminal on coil under the cap (its marked - )
there is one more wire i think, but i cant think of it.

ALRIGHT
RED = POSITIVE
BLACK=NEGATIVE
WHITE=TO EITHER POSITIVE OR ONE OF YOUR SWITCHES IN THE CAR THAT LIGHTS TURN ON WHEN YOU TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON. CAUSE WHITE IS FOR THE LIGHT.
GREEN = TO THE DISTRIBUTOR. THERE SHOULD BE 2 PLUGS ONE WITH A BUNCH OF WIRES AND ONE WITH 2 WIRES. THE ONE WITH 2 WIRES HAS A BLUE AND A BLACK WIRE. HOOK THE GREEN UP TO THE BLUE, THAT READS THE RPM'S.

Re: (=GAMEOVER=)
just get a ex cluster it is plug and play. really easy just unscrew the old cluster out be careful when you take the bezle out so you don;t break off the pressure clips and just hook the wires up to the correct color and you will be good to go.

Re: (sniperslayer)
billyonaire's way is what the instructions say. I just hooked up a tach in my friend's DX today. It must have been my 6th or so installation of a tach. The way I hook it up makes the running of the wires to the engine bay not necessary. All the wiring is under the dash.
First your need to find a spot where you can screw in your mount. After that, if you bought an Autometer tach, cut the blue wire loop. Get some electrical tape and wrap the wires coming from the back of the tach. Run the wires wherever you want into the dash. The following wiring procedures can be done behind/under your dash.
1. Green tach wire hooks up to the all blue wire behind your cluster. You can tap it or splice it.
2. Red tach wire can either be spliced/tapped or runned to the fuse box, your choice. To run to your fusebox, you'll pull the fuse for your RADIO/CIGARETTE LIGHTER. Stick the wire into the slot and wedge the wire using the fuse. Or you can tap this wire to a black with yellow stripe wire from behind your cluster.
3. White tach wire can either be spliced/tapped or runned to the fuse box, your choice. To run to your fusebox, you'll pull the fuse for your HEADLIGHT (either side). Stick the wire into the slot and wedge the wire using the fuse. Or you can tap this wire to a red with black stripe wire from behind your cluster.
4. Black tach wire is your ground. There's a bolt near your hood release latch that screws your dash in. Unscrew the bolt and use that as your ground.
