how to tell which b16a?
I just bought a project car eg with a b16a swap in it which was aparently from a "99 SIR" however i looked at the block and it says b16a which means its a jdm engine...
My question is how do i identify if the motor is from a 1991-1995 JDM Honda Civic SiR/SiRII with 168 hp or from a Del Sol or EDM civic with 160hp...

look at the head to see wut year the motor is...there should be 3 circles on the exhaust side of the head and i think its the first circle which is the year of the motor..it should be something like 9/3
its ps, not hp there is a difference after conversion
the second gen b16a's have no "pgm-fi" written on the intake manifold.
The VTEC is written bigger than the DOHC on the valvecover, and the serial number should begin with 5
if you only get one of these (especially the 5, million series) it is still a 1st gen.
