how to stake axle nut
just curious-
how do you stake your axle nut? I tried a flathead but it ended up going right through the metal on the nut. Im thinking a blunt tool would be more efficient.

i just give it a few taps with the hammer so it dents in alittle. i hate when people hammer the **** out of them. it makes it a total bitch to take off later.

awesome thanks for the replies! I am not near my car, nor have I seen it in the past few months.... but I dont recall my axles having holes for a cotter pin.
do certain axles have holes while others do not?
