Basically thats your only option if they need to be used again.
If both are being replaced, you can go to town with some power tools like a drill.

if the axles are bad you could cut the nut/axle end off...
though you could also take a dremel and put a cut in each side of the nut (be careful not to cut the axle) and then the bolt falls off...

Man my freaking axle nut came off while i was driving on the freeway almost hit a wall dont know how that happend.
