very easy to do yourself if you have basic tools and a $7 gapper. Do you have a civic? If so, please help me. I need the spces

 

Well honda dealer said it was a set rate of $90ish for all sohc.

 

No i have a GSR so does that mean its gonna be harder to do????

 

On the GSR, it's easier if you get the special adjusting tool, and the bent feeler gauges.

 

Its not hard I rate it a 3&3/4 on a 1-10 scale. Below are the tools I use instead of the special valve adj. tool. Will work on any B-series. Inspect every 12 months or 12,000 miles (20,000km) adjust if necessary. C-speed has a good how to. Check it out http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/v...alveadjust.php


I can do it and 90ish is about right.

My dad taught me and took us 1/2 an hour start to finish. It says in the Helms Manual,
Take off the Valve cover,
Make sure car is at TDC for each valve,
then try and slide the feeler through, not sure on the Specs
just a case of trial and error,
Then when putting valve cover on, make sure the gasket is okay.
remeber the car has to be cold, ie first thing in the morning.

 

You can do it..... Just as everyone said... It's really easy to learn... Good Luck... Also what motor are you doin it on??? SOHC is really easy only one that gets a little harder are the DOHC VTEC heads... You can use the wrench as Phat_Optimo showed or the real valve adjust tool... I'm finally getting a tool so it will make those a lot easier... hehe Good Luck

It's true that it's easy to do, but every once in a while you see a post from someone who tried it and now the car won't run. It's easy to be successful, IF you read and UNDERSTAND the directions. Just take your time.
