how much does a pressure plate weigh?
hi i just bought an exedy clutch and flywheel and the preshure plate is really heavy, i've never felt the stock one but damn it weighs double what the flywheel does. anyway how much do they regularly weigh? reason i ask is cause doesnt the preshure plate bolt up to the flywheel? so its seems dumb to try and reduce the weight of the FW but have th PP weigh so much. what do you guys think? thanks
I've got the same setup as you. Trust me, it's all good. Pressure plates have to be sturdy enough to grasp all the power. Exedy knows what they are doing. The Exedy setup is great. Clamps good and strong without any glitches so far.
It is heavy but has a smaller rotational diameter. A lightened flywheel removes weight from the outside of the flywheel where it has more impact on acceleration.
