Default how much of a difference does a fuel pressure regulator make in richness?

I have a b&m fpr. I've tried lowering and raising pressure but I can't seem to lean out my car. I am not for certain I am running rich but i get like 25mpg if I'm taking it easy in my b18c1. That can't be right correct? I have I/h/e and thats it. Reason I think i'm running rich is I get black smoke out of the tail pipe at WOT and also can smell gas out the tail pipe sometimes... this all leads me to believe I'm running pretty rich. Any ideas?

Well without a wideband o2 your just guessing.. Changing fuel pressure can make a big difference in your air/fuel ratio.. Since you have all the bolt ons why not go to a dyno and let them tune it correctly..

Or you can get a wideband setup and do it yourself.. Its pretty easy..
