i just too the head off of my d16a6 with 250000 miles, the head needs to be redone, im just going to do a mini me swap, but what should i do to the bottom end, cross hatching is still visible and pistons still look good, can i just put the head on and go? what should i be looking for? i will be putting in a hotter cam if that makes a difference

 

I have seen before, when you put a fresh head on a tired bottom end. The engine will start to burn oil. Just something to keep in mind.

might as well, since your going to have it apart anyways. whats the worst that could happen from doing new pistons and rings? Another 250 000??? Do it now, and save yourself from the headache later.
