QUOTE=.RJ]ls/VTEC (stock parts) are not stable to 8200 rpm like the gsr motor is.
if you have a working GSR motor then its not worth it.[/QUOTE]
Just put the vtec head on the ls bottom and go! Just kidding, keep the GSR motor if it runs, IMO.

Use the gsr head and tranny on the ls block. You'll get more horsepower and torque than the gsr motor. You will have to have the ls block tapped for oil to go to the gsr head. Also make sure that your not mixing obd 1 and obd 2.

Yeah and repeated revving of the motor to 8200 rpm (GSR fuel cut) will destroy the bottom end in short order. The LS bottom end was not built to handle high RPM use.
The more HP/Torque is really nominal.

Because its one or the other (or obd 0) and the components must match up (ecu, distributor, etc). Do some research to learn what obd is.

every one says that an ls cant go past 8200rmp without breaking something. but i can tell that none of you know first hand cuz my friend had a stock ls (with nothing but crower stage 3 cams) in a fourth gen. and we took that thing to well over 9500 hundreds of times. and the botom end was BONE stock.
