How long before compression test can be done on a fresh motor?
With a zero mile motor, after letting the motor idle until normal operating temp, how long should I wait to do a compression test?
Will doing a test too early cause the rings not to seat properly?

wait like 3000 miles or more, if you do one know it will just tell you that you have a bad motor because nothing has properly seal yet, and no by doing a compression test on it early will not mess anything up unless you do it improperly..the thing you should me more concern about is breaking in the motor safely ands properly...
Yeah, doing a compression test early won't hurt it, but it won't give "true" results. If you decide to do it, make sure you unplug the injectors, the last thing you need on a motor with 0 miles is a cylinder full of fuel. Goes for any motor really, but one breaking in even more so.
okay well I will wait a good amount of miles before I do so. Whenever I do it, I always unplug the ECU fuse
do need to do that much work with a compression test, all you need to do is jump the starter signal wire to B+, get a remote jumper, that way you can look at the compression gauge and do it at the same time, and most of all, do it by yourself, make sure its not in gear though, LOL, car might jump at you...and take out all of the spark plug too, if you dont know that already...
