Default How important is tire balancing?

Anyone have experience with tires that aren't balanced? I just got my tires put on, and realized they have no weights on them. They don't vibrate abnormally or anything, they seem fine.

Anyone have first hand experience with this? Don't bother giving me opinions if you don't have first hand experience..

It may be possible through a lot of care and observation to index tires to the wheels. (Heavy spot on wheel oposite heavy part of tire). This would minimize but not eliminate the need for balancing weights.

Are you sure the weights aren't on the inside edge of the wheel or the stick on type and you just didn't notice them? I would find it hard to believe that there aren't any at all and there is no vibration.

If you dont notice a vibration up to 80mph then dont worry. otherwise get fixed.

if yrou wheels werent balanced yould have a vibration from 50mphs and higher. and when they arent balanced they cause abnormal wear on the tire. and your wheels are probably have those sticky weights or weights on the inside of the rim

if you have a high quality aluminum performance rim, no chrome and a performance tire with the yellow triangle stamped on the sidewall see if it is lined up with the tire valve. the yellow stamp is from the factory and is the lightest part of the tire. the valve on a good wheel is the heaviest, in a perfect world when properly installed no balance is needed. unba;anced wheels can lead to many problems, brake fade/ pulsation, tie rod damage, ball joint damage, most of this at speed.
