How to fix a coliover thread?
I have a oppertunity to get some nuespeed coilovers for cheap but the problem is that the guy selling it does not have the top nuts for them, we tried to put them on with the stock nuts and end up stripping the threads on one of the front ones.
Can I get the threads fixed? The one is pretty bad to where we took a little chunk out of it so it cannot be re threaded.

I would not recommend doeing this. If the thread is damaged, replace the rod if possible, if not replace the shock. If that thread ever fails while you have the shock out of the car, it is going to launch the upper spring perch through whatever it is closest to, including people. Never mess around with loaded springs and questionable hardware.

the only reason why i suggested this fix was because it was on a coilover setup
when coilovers are off of the vehicle the spring has no actual load on it because of how short it is unless you have your car jacked up like a truck

Replacing the rod would no doubt have to be done in conjunction with a rebuild, at which point I am willing to bet costs more than the shocks themselves. (if they are rebuildable).
