ya know ... all this time when ive been learning and researching all the dohc vtec motor i have totaly neglected the single overhead ....... i have no real clue how it works ...

soooo .... how many lobes are there per cylender??? i know the intake and exhaust lobes must be on the same cam then ...... but how many lobes on a non vtec sohc and how many on a vtec sohc??? and how does the ctec mechanism work in this case!!!!

The vtec system is only on the intake side.. So there are 4 extra lobes on the vtec sohc than the non-vtec sohc..

 

on a sohc is it one lobe per 2 valves????? ... meaning just one lobe for intake and one for exhaust????

and how does vtec actualy engame in this system????
