Default How do you tell difference between starter going & igniter going out???????

I have people telling me it's your starter then it's no your igniters going out. How in the heck can you tell the difference? Starter usually will click when you try to start right?

If the motor is spinning over like crazy, it's not your starter. If there is no spark at your plug wires, it could be an igniter.

Do your head lites come on strong? If not, it's the battery. Also check all your grounds (frame to motor etc.) Can you push start the car (must be a stick, of course)?

Its the ignitor. Just check the wiring to make sure its not loose or anything. When it gets real bad though the car will start to just shut off when you are in motion..
