how do you remove this??
im removing my power steering and im trying to get my facts stra8, i know you have to do the loop on the rack and all that but i now need to know how and where to unhook that big hose that attaches to the top of the powersteering pump its held on by 2 10mm bolts and then runs through the bracket on the upper right hand corner of the valve cover shown is pic in red -}
Don't loop the rack at all, leave them to vent, if you look it you can get air trapped in there making it harder to turn. In order to get rid of that you need to cut it I believe, or unbolt it near the rack. Can't recall off I hand.

just change your subframe and rack to a manual rack.. i wouldnt just take the pump off and leave it. Much simpler to change the frame and rack. Think that i paid $50 for the frame and rack from the j.yard. Change the tie rod ends(inner and outer) , and get a alignment and you're done..

manual rack has a slower ratio = more turns lock to lock.
The "proper" way to use your power rack w/o power assist is to vent the rack, using a breather connected to the original fluid lines. You leave some fluid in to help lubricate the rack, but the breather allows air to escape as needed, without letting dirt and junk get in.
H-T user Padawan used to sell PS delete kits that consisted of several fittings to loop the inlet/outlet with provisions for a breather. You might try contacting him or searching for threads about it.
