removing rack from pinion. help

Default removing rack from pinion. help

did a searh, came up with limited info.

im swapping a new rack into my 95 dx hatch, i took the bolts off so its not attached to the car. its moving freely. how do i seperate the rack from the pinion? i need this car running asap. someone help me out. thanks.

Are you talking about separating the rack from the steering column? If so, get inside the car and lay on your back underneath the steering column. Remove the black plastic cover and you will see the joing with a 10mm bolt securing it to the rack. Unbolt it, remove the pivot joint and then pull out the rack. Good luck.
