Default how do you make the car stop priming?

like the title says..what makes the car STOP priming the fuel system?

my car used to prime for a few seconds, then it(the main relay) would click, the CEL would go off, and if i listed to the fuel lines under the hood, fuel would no longer be flowing.

now, after the click and CEL turnoff, the fuel-priming sound is still there.
what is goin on?

The main relay is just a relay. The ECU tells it to turn on & off.

could be the ignition switch (you know, the one the key turns). The Main Relay will signal to prime the system when it is in the start position, it sounds like the relay is confused and sending that signal whenever it is "on". Check the switch and main relay, and see what happens.
